Registration Information

All registrations must be completed online by the dates specified below for each program. There will be a $10 late fee assessed for all registrations accepted after the deadline. We cannot guarantee anyone a roster spot once online registrations close. If teams are full you will be put on a waiting list until enough players are available to form an additional team.

In-House Programs (T-ball & Grasshopper)

Registration Dates:  Open now through 3/1/17

T-shirts and hats are provided with registration fee.

Schnecksville runs an In-House program at our T-ball and Grasshopper levels. We believe at this age kids should focus more on having fun and learning the fundamentals and basic skills of baseball.  We feel the best way to accomplish this is to spend more time on the practice field with less need for actual game experience.  Games will still be played, but against other teams within our organization or a few other local organizations. These games are strictly non-competitive and are meant to be fun. This also means less travel for parents. Rosters are randomly determined.

T-ball (Ages 4-6)

Must be 4 years old by March 31st of current playing year
Cannot turn 7 before May 1st

Grasshopper (Ages 6-8)

Cannot turn 9 before May 1st

Recreational League Baseball (Biddy, Midget, Knee-Hi & Majors)

Registration Dates:  Open now through 3/1/17

Our Recreational Program offers organized baseball to youths between the ages of 9-16 and consists of our Biddy, Midget, Knee-Hi and Majors programs. Teams compete in a local league against neighboring organizations. The purpose of our Recreational Program is to provide a fun and relaxing environment for all kids who are not interested in playing in a Travel program. Here an emphasis is placed on continuing to develop the fundamentals along with providing a safe, structured environment that allows for learning proper conduct and sportsmanship.

These programs are minimally competitive and do not require a tryout. However, we may hold Open Evaluations at our Biddy and Midget levels. More information on Open Evaluations can be found below.

Biddy (Ages 8-10)
Cannot turn 11 before May 1st

Midget (Ages 11-12)
Cannot turn 13 before May 1st
Knee-Hi (Ages 13-15)
Cannot turn 16 before July 9th

Majors (Ages 16-18)

Cannot turn 19 before May 1st

For all Recreational leagues SPA uses the same uniform at each level.  This allows parents to purchase uniforms as needed rather than having to purchase a uniform every year.

Uniforms must be purchased online at time of registration.  Jerseys and pants can be purchased together or separately. Please make sure to include the correct size. You will be assigned a random number and no names will be added to the back.

Biddy and Midget Open Evaluations

During certain years when we have multiple teams at the recreational levels, we may hold Open Evaluations for players.  Any Biddy and Midget eligible player who is not on a Travel Team is welcome to attend Open Evaluations. No Player is required to attend Open Evaluations.

Open Evaluations will be held in March after all Travel tryouts are conducted and Travel rosters are set.  These evaluations help us place players with like abilities together in the same division to further their development.  Typically, the Recreational Leagues we participate in have two divisions; one that is more competitive and one that is more developmental.

Travel Baseball (Biddy & Midget Level only)

Registration Dates:  Open now through 2/19/17. No registrations will be accepted after this date. If selected, approximately $150 in additional fees will also be collected

SPA offers Travel League Baseball at the Biddy and Midget levels for boys 9-12 years of age. Travel baseball is for the serious, committed player looking to compete at a higher level. Players interested in playing on a travel team must attend tryouts where player evaluations will be conducted. Travel Team selection will be made prior to the start of the Recreational League season allowing those who don't make the Travel team to participate in the Recreational program.

SPA is a member of the LVLBL. Our Travel teams will compete against other travel teams throughout the Lehigh Valley area.  Players must reside within the organization’s local territory to participate on these teams.

Acceptance of a position on a Travel team requires understanding that playing time may not be equal. All players selected to an SPA travel team are expected to make SPA Baseball their primary commitment for the season. Players selected to these teams are required to attend all practices and games over any other sports or teams they may be playing with during the current season.

Please do not tryout for a Travel Team if you are planning a family vacation at any point during this season. The spots on this team are reserved for players who can attend all games. Families planning on taking a vacation during the spring baseball season should register for recreational baseball where the commitment to the team is not as demanding.

Players on a Travel team roster may be double-rostered on an equivalent Recreational team providing that team is an SPA team and the Recreational League allows Travel players to be double-rostered.  No Travel player can be double-rostered to a different organization or at a different level. Approval for double-rostering a Travel player must come from the Travel player’s coach and the baseball coordinator.  Any Travel player who pitches in a Travel league game may not pitch for a Recreational league team. Players on a Biddy Travel team are automatically double-rostered on the Midget Travel team.

Biddy Travel (Ages 8-10)
Cannot turn 11 before May 1st

Midget Travel (Ages 11-12)
Cannot turn 13 before May 1st

If you are registering to try out for a Travel team please do not purchase a uniform through online registration. You will be able to purchase a uniform after tryouts are completed. Uniform Fees will be determined after rosters are finalized.

Tryouts will be held in late February, early March. Dates and location TBD.
Tryouts are open to all Biddy and Midget eligible players.
If selected for a Travel team additional fees will apply including uniforms, league fees and tournament fees.
Players not selected for a Travel team will be placed on a Recreational team roster at the same level.

Tryout Fees

Those players trying out from another organization who are not selected for an SPA Travel team will automatically be placed on an SPA Recreational team. If that player wishes to return to his home organization he will be refunded his SPA registration fee less a $20 non-refundable tryout fee.
